What Is Root ???
As Android uses the Linux kernel, rooting an Android device gives similar access to administrative permissions as on Linux or any other Unix-like operating system such as FreeBSD or OS X. Rooting is often performed with the goal of overcoming limitations that carriers and hardware manufacturers put on some devices.
Advantages:
1.) You can run special applications that require root access on your phone. When compared to regular applications, root applications provide more features.
2.) One of the main reason I'll root my phone because I want to install and use custom ROMs on it.
3.) People who have low internal memory can transfer any application from internal memory to SD card after rooting their phone.
Disadvantages:
1.) Your phone might get bricked. (A bricked phone means your phone won't turn on in any way.)
2.) As soon as you root your phone, you void your phone’s warranty and if anything happens to your phone even when it’s in the warranty period, the company is going to charge you for the repairs. In some of the phones, you can un-root your phone, but in most of the phones there’s is no going back.
